Horseback trails
A great attraction for horse-riders can be excursions through the forests of the Drawa Forest. The area of the Drawa National Park can be explored on horseback on the horseback trails outlined in the area and on public roads. The marking of a horseback trail is an emblem of an orange circle against white background painted on tree trunks and on other local objects.
- The horseback trails of the Drawa National Park (DNP) serve to use riding horses for tourist and recreational purposes, and where the conditions allow, also to use horse carts.
- Pulling off the marked trail is permitted only in a state of necessity (saving of life or health of other people and horses, alerting about a forest fire, omitting of unexpected obstacles).
- The general traffic regulations are obligatory on the trail parts, where you can meet wheeled vehicles,.
- Horseback trail "Zatom" consists of two loops beginning and ending in the Zatom village. It leads through the forestland of the DNP, a few times leading close to the Drawa river. It leads along forest lanes and partially public roads which are available for all users.
Loop no. 1 - length 7.4 km
It starts on the main crossroads in the village centre and leads along with the walking trail on the cobbled road towards north-west. We pass a riding school "Rancho Rodeo" on the right and then turn right into a dirt road between houses. The trail leads further between fields and meadows, then leads along the power line through the forest. We cover the next part along the upper edge of the Valley of Drawa, and riding down the valley we can admire a picturesque view. Before we reach the river, we turn right and riding through the forest lines we reach a crossroads, where the two loops of the trail meet and lead further together to Zatom. In the village the horseback trail leads on an asphalt road meeting the green walking trail. In the centre of Zatom the first loop of the trail ends and the second one begins...
Loop no. 2 - length 7.1 km
... and guides the rider towards south along with the red walking trail. After covering of 2.3 km we turn left off the main road into a forest road. Riding along through the forest, we turn left at the fork of the road, and riding further north thorough the forest we reach the place where the two loops meet.
